The Effect of Education Based on Theory of Planned Behavior in Promoting Nutrition-related Behaviors to Prevent Anemia in Pregnant Women

Background and Aim: Iron deficiency is among the most prevalent nutritional problems during pregnancy. Besides, it can significantly affect pregnant women’s health. Therefore, this study aimed to determine effect of education based on Theory Planned Behavior (TPB) promoting anesthetic prevention behaviors in woman. Methods & Materials: This was an educational randomized controlled trial study. In total, 80 women were randomly divided into two groups test control (n=40/group). Data collection with reliable validity questionnaire consist demographic factors, knowledge, construct TPB (attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavior control, intention), performance. Before performing intervention, pre-test data collected from groups. Then, intervention performed results needs assessment for group, within a month form four 60-minute training sessions TPB. The 3 months after analyzed using Mann-Whitney U test, Chi-squared correlation coefficient. Ethical Considerations: present registered code IRCT2017052334106N1 Clinical Trial Registration Center Iran approved by Research Ethics Committee Arak University Medical Sciences (Code: IR.ARAKMU.REC.1395.445). Results: research indicated that before all variables same However, differed concerning studied structures (P<0.05).
